AN ABSENCING GAZE HAS AN EMPTYING EFFECT, 2025

installation of six works for Real eyes realise real lies at Galerie Kunst der Zeit, Dresden, 28.1.–10.2.2025.

The installation was conceived for two display windows of the former Galerie Kunst der Zeit and mirrors the often absent-minded gaze of passersby in public.

One window is designed in a conservatory mode of display, reflecting the urge to preserving, that is contrasted with a gesture of obscuring in the other walk around window space: By “framing” the seeming unused space with curtains it emphasizes the emptiness of the space, which is set in-between public and intimate, being left behind or not yet inhabited.
