UNTIL LIGHT ARRIVES, 2023

series of four framed photographs (153x116,5, 69,5x107cm, 69,5x69,5 cm)

It takes as long to capture a photograph, until the light hits the film in the camera. In this moment, passing time becomes past time and it’s still stand is endless. The photo series thematises the photographic process of image creation as light traveling from the sun, which is portrayed here, by projecting an image onto film. Curtains personally symbolise the longing for home and mark the perspective from inside an intimate space, divided from an outer temporality. This is confronted with the wide open sky, visible from anywhere in the world. When we look into the sky, our minds are often elsewhere.
